Herbivore Coconut Bath Soak

Herbivore Botanicals was set up by husband and wife team, Julia Wills and Alexander Kummerow. It all started when Alexander bought Julia a soap making kit, and she experimented making soap in their kitchen, in Seattle.  Julia soon came up with her first soap, the Bamboo Charcoal cleansing bar. The couple began with selling their soap, at their local farmer’s market, and on Etsy. And it was on Etsy the pair got launched onto a new level, with over 13,500 sales and 4000 reviews, they soon became a cult brand.  In 2014, the brand got picked up by Sephora and the rest, as they say is history.

Herbivore ingredients are simple, they are pure, food grade ingredients and are carefully chosen for their specific therapeutic benefits. There are no fillers and every formula is highly concentrated with essential vitamins, minerals and botanicals to get the best results and restore skin to its optimum vitality. Nothing is tested on animals and everything is 100% vegan.

So far they have been featured in countless magazines including: Glamour, Instyle, Vogue, Grazia and many others, so I decided that I definitely had to try out one of their products and believe me – I was not disappointed!

The first product I tried in their range was their Coconut Soak.

The first thing I noticed about this product, was the packaging- it’s so simple, yet so stylish and beautiful. I am not the best at taking photos and even I cannot take a bad photo of this!

The ingredient list is simple, there are only 4 ingredients.

Sodium Bicarbonate
Dehydrated Vegan Coconut Milk
Coconut Pulp CO2
Vanilla Planifolia

I love coconut- it’s one of my favourite foods and fragrances. I use a lot of coconut products such as coconut oil, coconut milk, and coconut butter- so to have a coconut bath feels quite indulgent, a bit like I’m Cleopatra!

When I ran the bath, I sprinkled some of the powder in the water while it was running, and the smell of  beautiful coconut filled my bathroom. When I got into the bath the powder had melted into the water, and it felt really moisturising and luxurious. I lay there soaking in bliss, breathing in the delicious coconut aroma. Afterwards I felt like a new person!

The thing I loved most about this bath soak, was how it made my skin feel afterwards. My skin felt so soft and silky, a rare thing at this age!

I am really excited to have found this brand and I’m looking forward to trying out their rose quartz facial roller and their facial oils.

If you would like to try Herbivore Coconut Soak, you can purchase it on their website or if you live in the UK you can try here.

I will make sure to keep you posted on their other products!
